Nimpkish Gateway

The Nimpkish Gateway

Twilight fell to the west, as we drove home through the Nimpkish Valley. The fading sun cast a mellow light across the horizon transforming the mountains, clouds, and trees into magical ethereal canvas. Pastel blues, greys, and gold pausing Chris our world in a moment of tranquillity. We had to pause to gaze northward at the artistry of God, before us on full display. The natural beauty sang with radiancy and emotion. Shadows grew long, and the cooling air layered a blanket of clouds above the Valley’s largest Lake, adding a profound sense of peace and reflection to the scene.

The Karmutzen Range rose boldly blending seamlessly into the heavens, we felt as if we were entering the gateway of paradise. Evergreens stood watch like sentinels illuminated by pastel light, evoking an overwhelming sense of wellness. In that moment, the mountain range was not just a geographical feature but spoke of the living grandeur of Northern Vancouver Island, of Canada’s greatness, a place where earth, ocean and sky meet in perfect harmony.

We continued our journey, uplifted by the splendour before us. The Valley had once again etched into our hearts a quiet comfort of tranquility, the gentle reassurance uniting Christine and I with nature, surrounded by a timeless mountain of promise, beneath an endless sky, as dusk unfurled a velvet cloak.
